Past Life Recollections: My Childhood and Early Years

Priscilla Ann Wagner, later known as Priscilla Presley, was born on May 24, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York, to Ann Iversen and James Wagner, a US Navy aviator. Her father passed away in a plane crash when she was only six months old. Paul Beaulieu, a US Air Force officer and Ann Iversen’s second husband, became Priscilla’s legal father.

Since her father was in the military, Priscilla and her family had to uproot every two to three years to a new city. She despised moving because of the difficulties associated with adapting to a new city and lifestyle.

Her dad got relocated to Austin, Texas, again in 1956. Just when Priscilla finally settled down at the new area and had made friends, the transfer orders came in, this time to Wiesbaden, Germany.

Your Own Story & Your Lasting Impact

The fact that Presley had a reputation as a cad did little to dampen her feelings for him. He asked her to marry him in December of 1966, and they were married on May 1 of the following year. Lisa Marie was born to them on the exact ninth month of their marriage.

Even though Presley had occasional love affairs after they were married and had a kid together, Priscilla’s life was generally positive after that. Nonetheless, things went downhill for the couple as Elvis Presley’s star began to soar, as he began spending more time on the road and engaging in extra-marital relationships.

Priscilla eventually fell in love with her karate instructor Mike Stone due to Elvis’s lack of commitment to the marriage. In spite of the fact that Presley will always be her first love, she found herself growing increasingly close to Stone.

On February 23, 1972, Priscilla and Presley announced their separation. Separation papers were filed, and on October 9, 1973, the divorce was finalized. Priscilla received $725.000, marital relationships, child support, 5% of Presley’s publishing company, and 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their Beverly Hills mansion.

When Priscilla’s marriage ended in divorce in 1973, she began to surround herself with too many potential suitors. She moved in with her new boyfriend, Mike Stone, right after she and her ex-husband broke up. They dated briefly, but it didn’t last long because she quickly developed feelings for the actor and model Mike Edwards. They were together for six years, the first two of which she spent in an intimate live-in relationship.
