Before he became a presidential candidate, Donald Trump was already the most recognizable and colorful American business magnate.
Trump as a 75 years old man has been left his office for only one term, yet he continues to be a prominent force inside the Republican Party despite having been written off as a prospective candidate for president. He served only one term.
More than simply his disputable attitude on the issue of immigration and his disgraceful campaign style gave rise to concerns about his viability as a presidential candidate in the year 2016, though.
Nevertheless, the billionaire had the last laugh when he stunned everyone by defeating more established politicians in the Republican primary. This gave him the opportunity to become the party’s nominee.
Early Life
On June 14, 1946, Donald John Trump was born in the borough of Queens, New York, to parents Fred Trump, a businessman in the real estate sector, and Mary Trump, a housewife who was originally from Scotland. Fred Trump was the son of Fred Trump, who was also the father of Mary Trump. He was the second youngest of five children, and he attended a private school in Queens up until the ninth grade, at which point he moved to the New York Training Center. He was the second younger of the two boys.
After completing his first two years of undergraduate study at Fordham University in New York City, Donald Trump transferred to the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1968, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania. As a result of receiving five student deferrals and one medical exemption, he was able to avoid serving in the military during the Vietnam War.
Entrepreneurial Profession
Mr. Trump shifted the emphasis of the family business from developing low-rise apartment complexes in Brooklyn and Queens to upscale real estate in Manhattan, where he transformed the run-down Commodore Hotel into the luxurious Grand Hyatt and constructed the 68-story Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue. All of the famed developer’s buildings, including Trump Place, Trump World Tower, Trump International Hotel and Tower, and many others, bear his name. Trump Towers are now being developed in the cities of Mumbai, Istanbul, and the Philippines.
As a result of Mr. Trump’s forays into the hospitality and gaming industries, the Trump Organization has been forced to declare bankruptcy four times.
President
The publication of an audio recording of Mr. Trump making explicit sexual comments to a woman in 2005 and claims, especially from inside his own party, that he was unfit to lead were just two of the many issues that plagued Mr. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Despite being consistently second in the polls, he told his supporters that he would win the election and “drain the swamp” in Washington. His slogan for the election was “Brexit times 10,”
His campaign received a lift from a recent episode involving an FBI investigation into his opponent’s emails, which not many people saw coming.
In the Oval Office, he convened a meeting with his supporters two days following the election, as the news of his unexpected victory was still making its way across the country.
In becoming the first U.S. president who had never before held public office or served in the military, Donald J. Trump made history even before he was inaugurated in as the 45th president of the United States.
On the 20th of January in 2017, he was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States, and he served in that capacity until the 20th of January in 2021, when his successor took office.
